MEET MEGAN

Megan Collina is a New York-based singer, actor, content creator, and theater educator. She recently graduated from Ohio University as a part of the university’s inaugural BFA musical theater class. While in Ohio, Megan seized many great opportunities within the school and helped build the foundation for the new-age musical theater collegiate training program. She led and was featured in several productions including but not limited to Spring Awakening (Wendla), Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812 (Helene), and Carrie The Musical (Ms.Gardener). During junior year Megan began developing her passion for theatre marketing and social media. She began to organize social media campaigns for the productions she was a part of. This resulted in videos with over 300,000 views and a massive uptick in ticket sales. Her TikToks brought in new audience members from over 9 hours away. She continued to run and find success in social media campaigns for her projects.

Through this, Megan began to educate herself on accessibility in theater and focused on how she could create a positive impact with her skillset. In her senior year, Megan spearheaded two projects to contribute to making theater more widely accessible. She produced, co-directed, and led the marketing campaign for a production of Ride The Cyclone, she used her resources as a student to make all tickets for the performance free including streaming. After the very successful social media campaign there were over 3,000 tickets reserved for the limited 4 performance run.

Megan then organized a campus cabaret fundraiser for the non-profit organization The Fund For College Auditions. She and her peers raised over $600 in one night that went directly to students from marginalized communities in pursuit of collegiate theatre training. She became a part of the TFCA team shortly after her graduation and continues to empower students to organize their own fundraisers. Megan is a believer that representation in our art and media has a direct effect on our society. She hopes to continue her work in pursuit of accessibility through art and performance.
